​Gorleston Badminton Social Club (“the Club”) is committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of its members. This policy outlines what information we collect, why we collect it, how it’s stored, and your rights under UK data protection laws.

What we collect

We collect the following personal information from members:

  • Full name

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Emergency contact name and phone number

  • Relevant health information (e.g. injuries or medical conditions that may affect play)

How your data is stored

  • Member information is securely stored in a private Google Sheets document, accessible only to the Club organiser.

  • Phone numbers are also stored in the club’s WhatsApp group, which is used solely for club communication.

  • No paper copies of data are held.

We do not share your personal data with any third parties.

How your data is stored

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you

  • Request that we correct, delete, or restrict how we use your data

  • Withdraw your consent at any time, although this may affect your ability to participate in sessions

  • Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you believe your data has been mishandled

We will retain your information only for as long as you are an active member of the Club. If you leave the Club, your data will be deleted within 1 month.
