Date Created: 29 March, 2025.
1. Purpose
This policy sets out how we handle grievances raised by members and the steps we may take if a member’s behaviour falls below the standards expected at Gorleston Badminton Social Club.
2. Grievances
If a member has a concern about how they’ve been treated or an issue affecting their experience at the Club, they are encouraged to raise it directly with the Club organiser, Harry Stannard, by:

All members are expected to:
-
Treat others with respect and kindness
-
Avoid disruptive, aggressive, or discriminatory behaviour
-
Communicate politely, both in person and in the WhatsApp group
-
Pay monthly fees (£18) on time and inform the organiser if circumstances change
4. Disciplinary Action
Breaches of this code may result in the following actions:
-
First Incident: A clear and respectful warning will be given, explaining what behaviour or issue needs to be addressed.
-
Further Incident: Membership may be suspended or terminated at the discretion of the Club organiser.
Examples of behaviour that may lead to disciplinary action include:
-
Failure to pay membership fees without explanation
-
Aggressive, abusive, or disruptive behaviour
-
Rudeness or behaviour that upsets other members

5. Referral of Serious Cases
Any serious concerns (e.g. safeguarding issues, harassment, or discrimination) will be referred to Badminton England for further guidance or action:

6. Appeals
If a member disagrees with a decision to suspend or remove them from the Club, they may request a review. This will be considered by the organiser or, where appropriate, passed on to Badminton England for an impartial view.
