1. Policy Statement
Gorleston Badminton Social Club is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all members. We recognise our duty of care towards all participants, including adults at risk, and are committed to safeguarding their wellbeing during all club activities.
2. Scope

This policy applies to all members, visitors, and any individuals involved in the club’s sessions.

The Club is open to adults aged 18 and over and does not offer coaching or formal instruction.

Nonetheless, we are committed to upholding safeguarding principles in line with Badminton England’s guidance.
3. Definition of Adults at Risk
An adult at risk is a person aged 18 or over who may be unable to protect themselves from harm or exploitation due to age, disability, illness, or life circumstances.
4. Commitment to Safeguarding
We aim to ensure that:

Everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

Any concerns about the safety or well-being of a club member are taken seriously.

The club environment is free from abuse, bullying, neglect, or discrimination.
5. Reporting a Concern
If you are worried about the welfare or safety of yourself or another member, you can:

6. Code of Conduct
All members are expected to:

7. Policy Review
This policy will be reviewed annually or in line with any changes to Badminton England’s guidance.
