Gorleston Badminton Social Club Code of Conduct
Date Created: 29 March, 2025.
At Gorleston Badminton Social Club, we believe that a friendly atmosphere, mutual respect, and fair play make for the best games. This Code of Conduct sets out the expectations for all members to help create a welcoming and enjoyable environment for everyone.
1. Respect Everyone
-
Treat fellow members, visitors, and venue staff with kindness, patience, and courtesy.
-
Celebrate differences—our club welcomes adults from all walks of life.
-
Listen to others, encourage new players, and help make badminton fun for all.
2. Play Fair, Play Safe
-
Respect the rules of badminton and avoid aggressive or unsafe play.
-
Take care not to hog court time—rotate fairly and make space for others.
-
If someone is new or less experienced, offer encouragement, not criticism.
3. Communication
-
Use the WhatsApp group respectfully—keep things clear, polite, and on-topic.
-
Let the organiser know promptly if you’ve registered to play and can no longer attend, so others can have a chance to join.
4. Commitment and Payment
-
Membership is £18 per month, payable on the 10th for the month ahead. Please make payments on time to help the club run smoothly.
-
If your circumstances change or you’re unable to pay, let us know—we’ll always try to find a fair solution.
5. Discrimination and Harassment
-
We have zero tolerance for bullying, harassment, or discriminatory behaviour of any kind.
-
Anyone behaving inappropriately may be asked to leave the club.
6. Speak Up
If you ever feel uncomfortable or concerned about the behaviour of someone at the club, you're encouraged to speak to the Badminton England Safeguarding Team directly:

Phone: 01908 268400
-
Or in an emergency, call 999
